Federal law prohibits selling recalled consumer products, including secondhand goods offered through an online marketplace. Sellers should check the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall database before listing applicable products.
Items BobNJob does not allow
- Stolen goods or items the seller does not have authority to sell.
- Recalled, counterfeit or fraudulently branded products.
- Asbestos-containing materials, loose lead-based paint, contaminated demolition debris or materials known to contain regulated hazards.
- Fuel, explosives, fireworks, ammunition, pressurized gas cylinders, hazardous chemicals, pesticides, solvents or leaking containers.
- Items with active mold, infestation, sewage contamination, severe corrosion or other undisclosed health and safety hazards.
- Used smoke alarms, carbon-monoxide alarms, fire extinguishers, safety harnesses or protective equipment whose reliability cannot be verified.
- Unsafe, materially altered or incomplete electrical and gas equipment that cannot be legally installed or used.
- Weapons, illegal goods or anything prohibited by law.
- Jobs, services, housing, animals or unrelated personal goods. BobNJob is focused on home-improvement materials and fixtures.
Seller responsibilities
- Use photos of the actual item.
- Disclose known damage, missing pieces and modifications.
- Provide honest measurements and condition information.
- Do not publish a full home address in the listing.
- Remove or mark the listing sold when it is no longer available.
Review and removal
BobNJob may reject, hide or remove any submission that appears unsafe, unlawful, misleading, outside the marketplace's scope or inconsistent with this policy. BobNJob may request additional information before publication.
